European options are illiquid as fuck

Fuck the European equity markets, options on liquid singles are illiquid as fuck. Just trying to express my vol view on some liquid singles, can't do it at all.

It is the most liquid options in the world.

The Europeans get dumbed down by the finance industry there. They create countless (tens of thousands of) non-standardized fantasy products that look like options, but which aren't. Ie. bucket-shop mentality over there. They screw the masses. Of course then not much clients remain for the real options.
The US finance industry with its standardized options is lightyears ahead of the European barbarians

They are not as attractive as the US ones, they force you to keep them until expiration most of the time, so that doesn't attract many traders.

Even the US ETFs that cover European regions are illiquid like FEZ, EWG, EWQ, etc. FEZ has huge open interest but very little trading and like 10-20% spreads.
