Quote from Copernicus:
Im not a fan of France, will be the first one to admit it, but truly feel sorry for them right now. Years and years of history and culture being eaten away by immigrants who somehow feel like they own the country or are entitled to everything without contributing anything

Not a single member of the french goverment come from a "minority group". And you can search down, city governement, big area, no one is foreigner.
Quote from makloda:
Europe sucks if you're poor and want to get rich. Europe is great if you're poor and have NO INTENTION of getting rich.

Quote from SNBthetrue:
I don't think it's the causis. This kids come in majority from africa, mainly north africa. Their parents came in France to raise their living standard. Remember the french doctrine : Liberty, Egalitiy, fraternity. When the manufacturing was still done in France.
They were like everyone else at 6-7 years old. They went to school and they were teach those great words. BUT, they discover the truth. Contrary to "capitalist america" their parents were working hard but they couldn't move up in the ladder. Because of their name, the skins color, and mostly because the french language is made that it's very hard for a stranger to express and not be taken for someone stupid. In france if you don't speak well french you are a shit ( even more important writing ). And result don't really matter, more who you know, wich uni you attended...
Then now as this family had little money they were parked outside of the city in big building block. But away from the city like 20min train. It's like little ecosystem. And the kids living there don't respect the french institutions. They want to deal illegal stuff to raise their income, and the cops where in their way. So they had to keep the cops aways from the blocks... Thusfar keeping this blocks in total isolation from the outside world. If you want to visit the true Paris go in the north of it...

Every country in Europe that I am aware of is treating "professional trading" capital gains as ordinary income. Even though some countries do not tax capital gains you will still have to pay (sometimes sizable) income taxes, depending on how much in trading gains you have.Quote from college_trad3r:Because we don't have capital gains basically trading the US market with European passport is better than with US passport.

Liechtenstein, Monte Carlo, Cyprus, Andorra and possibly Malta are notable exceptions.
Taxes in Europe are generally bad, especially for higher incomes. This is nothing new. It doesn't stop there. Indirect taxes are out of hand. Europeans created a system of clever indirect taxation of sugar, insurances, champagne all the way to an entertainment tax.
For higher tax brackets, if you earn 300,000 EUR a year in countries like Germany, Denmark, Sweden or France it is likely you see your government taking a 50-60% cut, leaving you with less than half. Then you are nailed with indirect taxes on your consumption. Another 10% of your gross income gone. You end up paying 70% of your annual income to the government. It used to be called communism, now it's labeled "putting the weight on the shoulders of those who can carry it".
It's a paradise if you're an unemployment married couple in your 30s with five children. Nothing to worry about then. European governments take care of their loyal sheep from the crib all the way to the casket.
Many of those who can take off. UK (nondom taxation for foreigners), Monte Carlo, Caribbean, Switzerland (lump sum taxation for foreigners), Dubai et. al.
