Europe Is Horrified of Trump, but He’d Fit Right In

I see that the people of our inner cities reacted to the economic stimulus they were dealt. I don't seem them as idiots... they had respectable neighborhoods and businesses. But we dealt them some interesting cards... ending segregation (a good thing) red lining (a bad thing) and democrat policies and financial incentives to have children out of wedlock and not go back to work. This wrecked our innner cities... its not the nature of the people but the sinister results of govt policies.

Now, this is happening with immigration...
I see the left and the establishment fighting against the perfect natural desire for people to not have their wages diluted by massive legal and illegal immigration and see their tax dollars go towards 61 million immigrants and 30 million illegal immigrants.

If the politicians continue with these destructive policies... bad things may happen. But its not because of a problem with Americans... or the prejudice of Americans... its because the cronies and their politicians are trying to re- engineer american society and americans don't want that to happen. Even 60% of the hispanics want border control

So... stop it with this hitler shit. The sinister people here are the crony/establishment types destroying our nation with unfettered and massive immigration... not the people voting to halt all this immigration and give their kids a shot at being successful.

that is why you are worth engaging in conversation.
I was writing the same thing but changed it... because you wrote it better.
Nice analysis.

It's easy to start thinking we're living "in end times" if you confine your reading to certain websites that continue reinforcing that belief (not that you do). That's what the internet is doing, imho, it's making us "beliefs silos". So some of us may have emotions mimicking German emotions in those interwar years. But we certainly do not have the same fundamentals. We do not have a legitimate claim to feeling humiliated by a major war loss. We are not chafing under brutal foreign trade restrictions. We are not massively in debt to foreigners in their currency. We are not hamstrung by a gold standard. We have not been disarmed. We do not have hundreds of thousands of people in food lines. It's hysteria to think we are actually anywhere near those conditions.

Calling out your spin. "The left and the establishment", meaning all of the left and some of the right are bad, so the only good are right. The latter being a group which (merely by chance!) you belong to?
; )

meaning only a very small amount of the right... and virtually no one on the left.

If you can name 10 leftist leaders I will happily retract what I wrote.

I agree with those who say the comparison of Trump to Hitler is way overblown. Trump has an air of nationalism about him that appeals to those who are fearful, but a far better comparison with Trump is Silvio Berlusconi. Both are compulsive liars and exaggerators, and love to talk about their wealth --Berlusconi is probably ~3 times richer-- both thumb their noses at critics and the law, both have been caught breaking laws, both strike out viciously against any accusers, but only Berlusconi, so far, has actually come perilously close to doing prison time. Among his numerous convictions, Berlusconi was convicted of tax fraud in 2013, "...sending Italy’s fragile government on the road to crisis." Trumps current conviction is for running an unlicensed University in New York. He has multiple, additional convictions for fraud coming up. After that, who knows?

From a 2013 NYT article:

Italian Court Upholds Berlusconi Sentence, Setting Stage for Crisis
By RACHEL DONADIOAUG. 1, 2013

ROME — For years, former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi deftly navigated the labyrinth of Italian justice, always finding an exit — until Thursday, when Italy’s highest court handed him his first definitive sentence, upholding a prison term for tax fraud and sending Italy’s fragile government on the road to crisis.

From Our Advertisers
The court called for a re-examination of a ban on Mr. Berlusconi’s holding public office, but did not reject the ban. This staved off the imminent collapse of the right-left coalition of Prime Minister Enrico Letta, which was formed to tackle Italy’s dire economy — but probably only bought it more time.

Parts of Mr. Letta’s center-left Democratic Party are reluctant to share power with a now-convicted criminal. Meanwhile, the center-right People of Liberty party looked poised to split between Berlusconi loyalists and those seeking more independence from the former prime minister in a future bloc.

“The barometer signals a very strong storm,” said Giovanni Orsina, professor of contemporary history at LUISS Guido Carli and author of “Understanding Berlusconi.” “I expect a lot of quake tremors in the next few days, but I think that the government will survive.”

The Court of Cassation confirmed Mr. Berlusconi’s four-year prison sentence, which had already been reduced to one year under a law aimed at combating prison overcrowding.

Two lower courts had convicted Mr. Berlusconi and other defendants on charges of buying the rights to broadcast American movies on his Mediaset networks through a series of offshore companies and falsely declaring how much they paid to avoid taxes.

In other cases over the past 20 years, Mr. Berlusconi, a three-time prime minister, has been convicted of tax evasion, buying judges and embezzlement, but was either acquitted on appeal or the statute of limitations had run out. (A trial in which Mr. Berlusconi is accused of paying for sex with a minor is continuing.)

Thursday’s ruling, like everything about Mr. Berlusconi, polarized Italy. Some of the former prime minister’s loyalists called it the equivalent of a judicial coup d’état, while his critics called it tantamount to Al Capone being convicted of tax evasion.

After the ruling, a furious, saddened and uncharacteristically unsmiling Mr. Berlusconi took to the airwaves of Rete4, one of the channels in his Mediaset empire, and declared his innocence, attacking the magistrates who he said had tormented him for 20 years and become an antidemocratic force within Italy.

“The sentence is absolutely groundless and violates my personal liberty and my rights,” Mr. Berlusconi said.

The man who once called himself “the politician most persecuted by prosecutors in the entire history of the world throughout the ages,” added that he would once again create Forza Italia, the party he founded in 1994. He had dissolved that party to form People of Liberty with another right-wing party. “Long live Italy, long live Forza Italia,” he concluded.

Mr. Berlusconi is widely seen as wanting to stay in public office in the hope of wielding the political influence he needs to protect his business interests.

Thursday’s ruling did not automatically send Mr. Berlusconi to prison or house arrest. It is up to the same appeals court in Milan that convicted him to formally request his arrest. Mr. Berlusconi’s lawyers can also request a suspended sentence.

Experts said that considering his age, 76, Mr. Berlusconi would more likely face house arrest or community service than prison.

Virtually everyone on the left, what you would describe as "left" anyway, is against illegal immigration and wants it stopped, including Clinton and Sanders. As I understand it, the position of the Democrats running is that immigration itself is not a bad thing per se and that we should control who we let immigrate into the U.S. and not have open borders. The main constituent silent on illegal immigration I would guess, are those U.S. employers of illegal immigrants. I would think that most of them, if they are politically active, are Republicans, such as Mr. Trump, whose contractor hired illegal immigrants. Some of these employers may give large amounts of money to political causes and perhaps that is one reason immigration has not been controlled as well as some would like. The Trump campaign has tuned in on the fears of those such as yourself and is exaggerating and exploiting these fears -- quite successfully it appears. Their campaign seems to have caught on with you.

1. Piezoe are you familiar with the difference between and "or" statement and an "and" statement?

Read my exact words... please... and address those.
your strawman argument does not work here.

Here is support for my statement... Just googled it.

1. Bernie Sanders slammed calls to shut the borders to Syrian refugees, telling supporters at a Monday night campaign rally that "now is not the time for demagoguery and fear-mongering."

2. Hillary Clinton said Tuesday that closing the door on refugees fleeing Syria would undermine "who we are as Americans."

"We have always welcomed immigrants and refugees," Clinton said. "We have made people feel that if they did their part, they sent their kids to school, they worked hard, there would be a place for them in America."

-----

Please recall Trump rose to top the polls because he was the one saying we should halt immigration of syrian refugees til we could do it sanely.

Women can't go out at night in some parts of northern europe now... and we see this happening all over Europe. You don't think women and children should be protected?

You think we need more terrorist attacks? You think it unreasonable for people to say no to more immigration until these things can be prevented?
If you really think its wrong to protect women and children... you suffer from leftist mind warp.

Your only sane response would be that you favor taking in more immigrants but you will guarantee not to let in molesters and terrorists.

I would ask you how and you would admit you can't really do it.
You will then say compromise.

And I will say... OK... lets talk about families with children who can prove paternity and maternity. I would be willing to take some risk in those circumstances.

We don't need to bring in thousands or millions of young men with no sexual outlets. Its stupid and its dangerous.

I recall Subic bay having problems and kicked our military out for 24 years. Until recently.

Cologne: Two Child Sex Attacks In Two Weeks At Cologne Swimming Pools

by OLIVER LANE AND CHRIS TOMLINSON8 Mar 2016529

Despite having been initially reported as an isolated incident, a migrant gang sex attack on a 12 year old child on Sunday was actually the second at a pool in the same city in two weeks.
In Cologne, the city of the infamous New Year’s Eve attacks, a 12 year-old girl was sexually attacked by migrants on Sunday. Six migrant men touched the girl in a way described as “indecent”, and police have told the German media that they are investigating the matter on suspicion of sexual abuse, reports Spiegel.

Now serious questions will be asked of the management of the pool, who promised just two weeks before they would be investigating the situation after the father of another two young girls, aged 10 and 12, came forward to complain about abuse. Cologne’s Expressreports the previous attack at another pool in the city managed by the same company was a “similar case”, suggesting the same group of men may have been returning to the baths to prey on young girls.

The migrants from Sunday’s attack were taken into custody by police shortly after the young girl escaped their clutches and ran to a lifeguard, who took care of the “frightened” child. The 12 year old claimed that the six men had cornered her at the end of a water slide causing a jam, and then seized the opportunity to put their hands into her bathing suit.

Similar ‘swarm’ tactics were observed to be used by the Cologne attackers, who would gang up around women and sexually abuse them from all angles.

Located in the Zündorf district, the pool management told media there were six suspects arrested at the scene and that the men involved were aged 17 to around 45 years. A police spokesperson said, there is suspicion that the men may have been molesting other children, and they had separate reports on the same day from others claiming that they were touched inappropriately by the same gang of men.

Five of the six men involved in the assault are from Syria, Iraq or Afghanistan, and police confirmed that the five were all asylum seekers that had likely come into the country since last year. The men are all reportedly living in asylum homes in the Cologne area.

Breitbart London has reported at length regarding the problem with migrants at public pools and sexual assaults. In Bornheim a pool tried to ban migrants from coming in entirely after a group of men molested at least four underage girls at the pool over the course of a single day.

The company was forced to back off on the attempted ban only 24 hours after the attacks because of heavy criticism by many like the director of the North Rhine-Westphalia Refugee Council who said that such a ban would be discriminatory toward the migrants. The initial idea for the ban was to allow the newcomers to Germany a chance to integrate into the culture and learn that in Germany such actions are not only disapproved of but illegal.

Another pool in Norderstedt is tackling the problem by hiring plain clothes guards to watch out for sexual incidents involving migrants and are even thinking of segregating the pool between genders entirely, as is often the case in Middle Eastern countries, leading many to question if migrants are adapting into Germany or if Germany is adapting to Middle Eastern culture.
