Foreign Ministry says the kingdom does not consider those taken in as refugees

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates
Saudi Arabia says it has taken in about 2.5 million Syrians since the conflict began, its first official response to suggestions that oil-rich Gulf states should do more to address the plight of Syrian refugees.

The official Saudi Press Agency quoted an unnamed official at the Foreign Ministry late Friday saying the kingdom does not consider those taken in as refugees and does not house them in camps “order to ensure their dignity and safety.”

It says they are free to move around the country and that several hundreds of thousands who have chosen to stay have been granted residency status, giving them access to work, schools and free medical care.

There were no details on how many of the Syrians remain in the country.

This is not true. As outlined in numerous articles recently the wealthy Arab countries have taken in nearly no refugees.

The Saudi Arabian government is simply pushing obviously false propaganda in this particular case.

So what's your source?

Nm, I see it over at infowars.

So what's your source?

There are many articles providing detailed information on this subject. In a in-depth article The National Post in Toronto recently detailed how many Syrian refugees each country has taken in. Many articles have provided refugee figures from the UN and other organizations carefully tracking this recent situation with Syria.

According to the Organizations that count refugees just short of 4 million refugees have left Syria. 6.5 Million people have been displaced internally in Syria. Of those who have fled - 1.1 Million are in Lebanon, Jordan has 608,000, and Turkey 815,000.

Considering these documented numbers out of 4 million max - where did the 2.5 million refugees supposedly in The Kingdom of Saud come from? Were they magically created out of fairy dust? In fact they are so invisible they required no incoming processing or temporary housing. In fact news reporters can not find any of them.

Let me also ask how did these 2.5 Million refugees get to Saudi Arabia? How many planes were needed to fly them there? Where are the ships they came on? The claims by the Saudi government are laughable and an absurd attempt to deflect well-deserved criticism for their lack of support to help the refugees.

I find it interesting that the germans are so against cutting the greeks, a fellow EU and NATO member, any slack, but will devote vast sums to migrants. Similarly, they are ok with a write down of Ukraine debt but not for Greek debt.

How many refugees are China and Japan taking in? Zero.

I'll concede that 2.5 million is "a stretch", to put it mildly, but so is zero.

Did you read the other recent press article on a middle-class refugee from Syria who went to Saudi Arabia first and was treated very rudely and was told he had 30 days to leave. His family landed up settling in Sweden. And this is an example of how a college educated refugee family was treated by the Kingdom of Saud.

All the wealthy Arab nations have taken in under 10,000 Syrian refugees each.

Since they don't have documents, you don't know they're not Syrian. But I would suspect some are Iraqi, too.
I'll post the Sydney morning herald and New York Times articles later. Most of these Syrian refugees are not Syrian. They are dumping their government issued ids at border crossings coming into Eastern Europe. Tonnes of afghanis pakis Iraqis and North African passports and licenses littered at border crossing. Lots of blacks in the refugee camps. There are no blacks in Syria. actual Syrian refugees quoted saying most refugees are not Syrian. One plus one equals
