Quote from Bix35:
to all trading Eurodollars...the CME changed their electronic error policy. Make sure you guys study it, because i will affect anyone trading spreads or anyone who puts offers and bids outside of standard deviation levels hoping to take advantage of an odd move. It also confirms my suspicions about volume levels if you read between the lines. Trdingliffe, you will know what I'm talking about as will a lot of ex-brokers like myself.
Bix, I know exactly what your talking about...it happened recently to me and the results were not fun...basically someone in one of the front months sent an order to buy 30,000 instead of 3000 and that set off all sorts of spread and stop orders that sent the market haywire for about 2mins...I thought it was a freaking terrorist attack and bought everything further out...the trades in the front month where the mistake occurred were busted to a certain level, but the other months were left as is...well, lets just say I was lucky, very lucky, to be flat at the end of that very stressful, pain filled day...lol
what I'm not sure about bix is your reference to volume levels as it relates to this rule change...send me a pm if you have a sec...
