Euro news?

Quote from cabletrader:

I see, so thin volume while traders are taking a holiday over the Xmas and New Year doesn't affect volatility?

Exactly. I'll stand corrected if anyone shows the contrary, ie, that today's move is abnormal in terms of volatility.

:)

Quote from Ivanovich:

Apparently it does not. I just ignored that comment :)

Same as for Cabletrader, can you prove that today's volatility is extraordinary in comparison to the rest of the year?

Thanks.

Quote from lurefo:

what crazy upmove? EURUSD lost 900 pips in 14 trading days since the recent highs and only recovered about 200 pips off the lows at 1.42.

Nothing spectacular. Actually, I might dump my last couple longs if we don't get above 1.45 quickly.

There you go a true xxxx trader
kudos bravo
Correct!!!

Just let roy n doy trip

Quote from chad_17:

This euro rally looks like it has the feet - it will definitely cross 1.45 today. But the timing this rally is what drew my attention - i read somewhere that you should expect erratic swings during the holiday period so this might be just that, or it could be profit taking on euro shorts. I doubt this has any fundamental reason supporting the euro rally.

You will not get 1.45 on the euro this year

Then again you and capman are looking for spikes and inside eco info lol

Quote from cabletrader:

I wish it didn't, I just logged on, made 2 trades, got stopped out on both of them, and closed the platform again!

That's the way (not) to do it!

Chin up old chap it's only money

Prove it? It's a natural market condition isn't it, fewer traders - lower liquidity - higher volatility.

Sure is, but better in my pocket than someone else's!

It was just funny the way it happened, I logged on, immediately lost 2 trades, then 5 minutes later logged off!

The upside is it didn't take long! :)

Ah they're only borrowing it for a couple of days, I'll have it back next week......

I think it's safe to say I'm done till Monday.
The year turned out profitable, off the highs but still up.
Went by quick, didn't it?
Christmas is fun, but New Year always makes me a bit melancholy, so before I get all misty-eyed,
Happy New Year.
