hee hee, this whole ME thing is funny. The US is not supporting Israel like they were some defenseless little country that needs help, they are restraining Israel from taking over a very much larger chunk of territory!! It's been like that since the Six Day War...

The US has reduced it's dependency on ME oil since the embargo of the '70's.. maybe if Iran closed the straits of Hormuz and the US, or anybody for that matter, sunk their entire force nothing much would come of it? What, a few days of oil shock and then back to normal...

Thats right asshole, we don't want Iran to use a nuclear weapon like we did at Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Grow a brain and realize that Japan attacked *us* on our own soil. That simply isn't done and they got off lightly not to mention that the lives of tens of thousands of soldier, sailors and airmen were spared the suicidal task of invading Japan.

Except it didn't actually work that way. The Japanese were completely willing to fight all the way into the heart of Tokyo. Their own letters, recently brought to light, reveal this. It was when they realized they weren't getting Stalin's help that they decided to surrender. The delicious irony of nukes is that, you may deprive the other guy of a city, but you don't get to have it, either.
