Giving up sovereign rights of member countries will happen no doubt due to the evolutionary process of the EU.
Nevertheless at this point in time Poland is a sovereign country and the government has a duty under their constitution to protect it's citizens.

I am a world citizen, European if you must know. I have lost my national identity a long time ago and I could not be happier. It has freed me from a lot of the idiological bondage other people are limited by.
Disagree with Poland. Poles chose to join the EU. Nobody forced them. And all criteria and conditions were fairly and squarely laid out in the open. No trickery no deceit. Just the truth. Trouble is the Pole's decision isn't based in opinion or ideology like your suggesting it's based in truth and the fact that the government is obligated constitutionally to protect it's citizens from islamic terrorism and they are rightly concerned considering the events in France,UK,Germany and other EU member countries and yes they now have hard questions regarding their relationship with the EU.
You are wrongly equating taking on refugees with terrorism. According to your logic we should never allow artifical intelligence to emerge because aside all the benefits and innovations it brings with it there are some disadvantages in that there are certain jobs lost. Or we should not allow corporations to grow because a few of them abuse their monopolistic or oligopolistic power. The grand majority of refugees are forever thankful that they were offered refuge and behave and try to integrate. A few bad apples need to be dealt with but it does not mean granting refuge in totality is unconstitutional. Quite the opposite. It is our constitutional responsibility to not look away when others are persecuted and at the risk of death because of their ethnicity or religious convictions. At least that is a fundamental base concept in the European union. If Poland decides that it cannot support this basic concept then indeed they should leave asap instead of continuing to suck from all the other nations while unwilling to contribute. Europe has clearly shown that it has the standing power to face bullies in that it let the UK freely decide its own course and it forces Greece to implement hard and harsh reforms instead of being bullied by Greeks. It is a big reason I am a proud European citizen. Point out freeloaders and force them to either participate or kick them out. That is the ONLY way a union functions and prospers. If Missouri in the US only sucked subsidies but did not play its part in the Union then rightly most other Americans would force Missouri to make a hard decision to either reform or they would eject the state from the union.

Your early presidents and those who wrote the constitution themselves held slaves (even fucked "house niggers"), ordered to have almost the entire Indian population killed. Whatever. You are correct that Germany has a high standard of living and a big export surplus. That is the result of running a merchantilist economic policy that is immeasurably aided by a cheap euro. What would happen to that if the US pulled out of the WTO and slapped an import tax on things like cars? What if you had to pay the actual cost of your defense and not rely on the US taxpayer to fund it for you?
I'm sure you don't get questions like that in the German press, but it is at the heart of the fanatical opposition to Trump, of course disguised in moralistic terms because that is what you have been conditioned to respond to.
I do accept your basic point however, which is that the EU countries joined freely and they knew what they were getting into. It clearly is unfair for Germany to accept the full burden of resettling refugees while others refuse. The question is whether you change the policy, force them to submit or if they leave.
