Why are you hearing it? I was convinced that sucessful traders ignored the news, and the very best traders don't even hear the news...

They'll find an excuse after the fact for any market movement. The market went up for a reason. News wasn't the reason.
 
Rumor was in the market on Friday at 9am EDT. AEX was up 4% on the day and Euro rallied. Everyone knew there was a deal over the weekend, so I'd be short the ES at 98 and short EURUSD at 1.3650 if it gets there overnight. We were actually hearing 50B Euro line from EU alone.
