John I never claimed you could sell at the top. I've always maintained you should sell when the trend changes.

People have had the value of their bitcoin holdings reduced by over 70% whether you bought at 69k or not. At one point in time it was valued at 69k and todays value is not even close.
As far as I'm concerned deciding to hold an asset is the same as deciding to buy an asset.

Yes Zuckerbergs net worth has been reduced by billions if you say so. I'm not all that concerned about billionaires.

How would you decribe your assumption that I'll be sorry that I'm poor because I didn't take advantage of the opportunity to buy bitcoin? Wouldn't that be playing on my emotions to get me to doubt myself? Would that be considered gaslighting?

Here is a little more, have you ever considered, what if the old bastard is right?

That was a different convo and a different context

It was after you read the book "Layered Money" and you were still saying you did not understand how to value Bitcoin, or for that matter, what is the value of Bitcoin

I said I'm sorry for you, for not understanding the importance of owning a layer 1 money that is not controlled by the government nor can it be censored, nor can it be seized

I see Canada is having protests again. What if another Emergency Act is declared?

You think it is wise not to hodl any Bitcoin or cryptos and that is your choice

I happen to think it's irresponsible risk management, but no need to go in circles with a discussion that will not go anywhere

I'm sure the people who had the means thought they could get out in time out of Lebanon, Turkey, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Ukraine...

I still haven't found a way to value it. I can understand how all the above is important but how do you put a value on it?

But you are right, I'm not prepared for the government to shut down my bank accounts. Well I have accounts in the US so if it's just the Canadian government I guess I could sneak across the border and survive for a while. I'm of the same thought, I will probably have time to get out. Lots of training with the stock market.:)

You say you never claimed to time the top and yet, you reference the top price of $69K when gaslighting me and other Bitcoin hodlers and our "losses" even if we made a lot of profits. That's gaslighting

Have you seen PYPL, ROKU, FB, AMZN, by your gaslighiting arguments, no one should be holding any shares of those stocks or the whole stock market since they are down big from the peak price

I agree you should have been out of those stocks when they changed trends. Why would you hold stocks that are trending down. I'm holding some enegy stocks right now but they are on a tight leash. It's not against the law to sell stocks you own. The object of the game is to buy stocks and sell them at a profit, not to see how long you can hold them.

Yes I believe the value of an asset is limited to it's price in dollars. I'll give you future value as long as it is based on something that can be quantified. You throw out future values but can't explain how you get to those values. BTW the future value you give is in dollars.

So do you have a loss or a profit?
I don't know your cost. What I do know is that you have had one hell of a drawdown that in my opinion was unnecessary.

And again I think you should define gaslighting for me because nothing I have said is false. It's not my fault you didn't sell at 69k. You are the one responsible for making your own decisions.
We all make bad decisions, that's how we gain experience. You just hate to admit that there might be a better way of managing a portfolio.

So, saying that selling the top is not the claim, but using the top price for calculation of losses, but if profits were cashed out, it only applies to the Bitcoins in the portfolio, but still if you have profits you still have losses, but again lecture everyone who's an investor because much of the stock market and Bitcoin and cryptos are down, but anyway you're the best because you never lose money...

What was the point again, ah yea, I forgot. I'll still call it out every now and then
