With each passing day, another thread finds its way into the political forum, more ridiculous than the last. The views shared by a growing number of posters are more consistent with an aluminum-hatted militia group in, say, Montana, than what you would expect from a gaggle of so-called traders. This nonsense evidently creates activity in the forum and, no doubt, Baron is pleased. But I'm reminded of the flurry of activity in the financial markets with no regard to quality that eventually came back and bit people in the ass. (AIG, anyone?) Baron, I hope you are paying attention.
For the longest time, it has been somewhat frustrating reading nonsensical posts with little or no basis in reality. And there is little if any communication or consideration going on in the exchanges. Rather, it is just posturing followed by more posturing, getting a little bit more outrageous each time. Presently, I am finding myself more embarrassed than frustrated at being associated with a site that is increasingly reaching "out there."
And so, I'm wondering if it might be in the site's longer-term interest to not have a forum that soils the overall site, nothwithstanding the incremental activity to the site that such lunacy generates. True, some people will still hold bizarre and outrageous political views that seek expression, but must they necesarily have the luxury of dumping their toxicity here? Perhaps radical views and such radical posters would be better served elsewhere. This is, after all, a moderated site for trading-related matters.
Any thoughts?

And so continues the mindless thuggery that diminishes the overall site, quite apart from the traffic that it generates.
Baron, have you considered creating a separate site devoted entirely to political hackery for self-proclaimed traders? It may well be an idea whose time has come.

Is this one of your "debates?"

I do think that one of us may well have sanity issues. And if I may clarify, I don't post political crap. Rather, I point a finger at it. And there you are.Quote from Pa(b)st Prime:
Are you FUCKING INSANE?
You are the Poster Boy for people posting NOTHING BUT political crap in lieu of Trading content on this site.
I just looked through your posting history. You've made almost 500 posts this month with every single one of them either in P&R or Chit Chat except for your bashing poll on ET member intelligence which you conveniently placed in the un-moderated Education forum where it errantly remains.
In almost 8000 posts I don't think you've made 50 that are trading related and none of which that were even remotely helpful to traders seeking to increase their knowledge or expand their craft.
So to use some pretty simplistic logic: Since there's already a plethora of message boards devoted exclusively to politics and since on this Trading message board you post NOTHING related to trading, the question is why are you here?
