They charge me $25 per quarter for no trades.

They charge $19.99 per trade.

I moved to Questrade. Emailed them and asked why I should stay compared to Questrade - just a standard reply - a form about reading their FAQ. No real response.

They charged me $125 to close my account.

DO NOT GO WITH ETRADE......
 
Where you are getting your numbers? They are out-of-date compared to website. But $25 is a deal with quarterly inactivity! Website says you should have been charged $40!

That's horrible service. Etrade and Tradefreedom are a joke. But if you trade in Canada, why don't you go with IB? Only $1 per trade, and way better account security. But you do have to make $10 CAD in trades every month, or they'll charge you the difference.

If you don't trade that much, Questrade is the best way to go in Canada.
