Yes, things would be different if we had the pandemic response team still in place. The whole point of having that group was to recognize possible pandemics and stop them before they get to America. We would have most likely had boots on the ground in wuhan in the early days. We still don’t have our scientists and doctors there.

The other idiot and his drunk friend thinks this is what the WHO does and it is not. There is no comprehensive pandemic prevention and response program internationally. That was the point of having the pandemic unit on the NSC. We learned we needed it from the last Ebola outbreak.

I disagree that it's out of control. A thousand plus per day in U.S. would be out of control and we're a long ways from that and highly unlikely to see that happening. What's out of control is fear mongering, speculative projections being submitted as fact, and the general misinformation that this is somehow more deadly to the average person than any other virus. Unless you're in the typical high risk group og people who are at extreme risk in any event, this is nothing more than a bad cold that kicks your ass for a few days. Who hasn't dealt with that?
