PARIS: Neurons in the brains of liberals and conservatives fire differently when confronted with tough choices, suggesting that some political divides may be hard-wired, according to a new study.

Cognitive style

The affinity between political views and "cognitive style" has also been shown to be partly genetic, handed down from parents to children, said the new study, published in the British journal Nature Neuroscience. Intrigued by these correlations, study author and political scientist David Amodio of New York University led a team who tested if the brains of liberals and conservatives react differently to the same stimuli.

Conservatives or right-wingers, however, were less flexible, refusing to deviate from old habits "despite signals that this ... should be changed."

Obscuring causal links even more is the fact that the brain is malleable and neural functions can change as a result of new experiences.



It's all in the brain. These people are born stupid.

And since they have never traveled outside of the little shit-holes they live in, they have never had the opportunity to immerse themselves in different cultural environments. Their brains have never re-wired properly. They hate anyone who does not look or act like them.

The study also explains other interesting observations made in this thread:

teagaggers in general are not inquisitive people. They will scream about fake news without bothering to independently verify.

teagaggers hate change. they see a black man in the white house and they go berserk.

teagaggers are also predominantly lower class and uniformly uneducated. they are dominant in the Southern states where quality of education rank last.

In the modern economy you need a good education to get good jobs. Since they have no education, they are mostly unemployed. There will not be any jobs for them in the new economy.

Expect violence in the future from these people. I imagine it will be a case where 60+ old pedophiles and hags brainwash one of their teenage grand-kid to shoot someone.

Poll Finds Tea Party Backers Wealthier and More Educated

Tea Party supporters are wealthier and more well-educated than the general public, and are no more or less afraid of falling into a lower socioeconomic class, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll.

They hold more conservative views on a range of issues than Republicans generally. They are also more likely to describe themselves as “very conservative” and President Obama as “very liberal.”

And while most Republicans say they are “dissatisfied” with Washington, Tea Party supporters are more likely to classify themselves as “angry.”

The Tea Party movement burst onto the scene a year ago in protest of the economic stimulus package, and its supporters have vowed to purge the Republican Party of officials they consider not sufficiently conservative and to block the Democratic agenda on the economy, the environment and health care. But the demographics and attitudes of those in the movement have been known largely anecdotally. The Times/CBS poll offers a detailed look at the profile and attitudes of those supporters.

Their responses are like the general public’s in many ways. Most describe the amount they paid in taxes this year as “fair.” Most send their children to public schools. A plurality do not think Sarah Palin is qualified to be president, and, despite their push for smaller government, they think that Social Security and Medicare are worth the cost to taxpayers. They actually are just as likely as Americans as a whole to have returned their census forms, though some conservative leaders have urged a boycott.

Tea Party supporters’ fierce animosity toward Washington, and the president in particular, is rooted in deep pessimism about the direction of the country and the conviction that the policies of the Obama administration are disproportionately directed at helping the poor rather than the middle class or the rich.

Note: "TEAGAGGING" is a new term I have coined into the English lexicon. It means to vehemently lie outright in the face of overwhelming proof stating otherwise.

Let us not judge based on emotive nonsensical exasperation. That would be the same as you screaming the earth is flat when the scientific proof is otherwise. (hint: that is why gaggers are loser traders. Unlike everyone else, gaggers are on govt. support programs and don't have to worry about profitable trading. They keep on trading the same old shit even when the market proves them wrong. They are incapable of changing their "habits")

Amodio says that the anterior cingulate cortex (ACC), a forebrain region, "serves almost as a barometer for this degree of conflict."

"People who have more sensitive activity in that area,'' he notes, "are more responsive to these cues that say they need to adapt their behavior," reacting more quickly and accurately to the unexpected stimulus. On average, people who described themselves as politically liberal had about 2.5 times the activity in their ACCs and were more sensitive to the "No-Go cue''

Gaggers are Intelligent enough for rudimentary functioning in modern society.

Gaggers are not intelligent enough to prosper and excel by navigating the complexities of modern society.

They have under-developed brains. Brains on par of let's say a Rhesus monkey.

Why are the teagaggers brains malfunctioning? My guess is a combination of blunt trauma and genetic predisposition.

I'm certain a vast majority of them come from abusive homes where they were sexually molested or severally beaten as children.
