ET gone to the dogs

The problem I see is that those who are day and night in the politics forum on this site are by majority guys who have some serious life issues. Their anger and rage cant just be overlooked. And unfortunately that often spills also into the regular forums such as with user @Scataphagos

I can't understand this, certainly doesn't register one little bit with my experience.
The Politics, Chitchat & Religion areas of ET could be considered the most abrasive for derogatory comments but really those sections are there for a reason too - to let off steam, and in my opinion do not cause damage into the trading arena of ET.
But Forex discussion, why would forex be such a negative? Just another trading avenue, albeit not my cup of tea as I find it too difficult, but so is Options trading and Day trading and micro scalping etc.

I agree. I usually put on Ignore ppl who are clearly trolls who are forwarding no valid arguments and are clearly just copying & pasting, recycling their arguments again and again and again from one post to another just for the sake of blah blah blahing or people who just curse like this guy @Scataphagos. He claims that he "bring to their attention some of their "notions" about trading and the markets are wrong", he doesn't. Last time we were discussing Universal Basic Income in this forum, he apparently didn't agree with what I was saying, instead of bringing to my attention my notion is wrong by valid arguments, he just said "Up Yours!" LOL. I was going to put him on Ignore but he chose to put me on Ignore instead so problem solved. :)
If a poster was for example trolling but from previous history had convinced me they knew a thing or two about trading, it would be highly unlikely I would put them on ignore. On the otherhand a poster who clearly displays trading ignorance (unprofitable), they become contenders especially if they become annoying.

Otherwise, there is no way I give out my secret sauce because I sacrificed many things in my life and suffered for years in order to become a profitable trader.

My main point is why do successful traders have to interact with strangers??? For what purposes???

Give humbletrader, give to the poor, give before its too late to give, Sir. Your secret trading sauce can gush like a river but nobody will even see or notice it, akin to casting pearls ........... that's just the way it is the world. So its easy to conclude, "what a waste! Fck 'em" But out there or here, there is one trader or two perhaps who put in the backbreaking work, toiled and bled and suffered to become a successful trader - there was no river gushing where he walked but a drop of your secret sauce mist fell on his head - that's all it took, it fired within him, he got into a rocket sprint from there. Akin to "millions saw the apple fall, only Newton asked, why" - do it humble, do it for that one guy you may never meet or know.

A successful trader is rich and is no different than a rich man referred to in the Bible. (No disrespect to THE MAN above by saying I'm not religious, so pls don't cut off my 2-yr good luck streak that just keeps firing and firing :))

  • Your post:like ratio is very low for someone who has joined within the last year.
  • 125:14 = 9:1
  • Should be at least 4:1 or better.
your use of terminology is confusing. e.g.Your post:like ratio is very low for someone who has joined within the last year.
it should be written as Your post:like ratio is very high for someone who has joined within the last year, which some people may think is unfavorable.
  • Should be at least 4:1 or better?

  • a favorable ratio should be at least 4:1 or less.
then again why argue about sentence clarity?:)

Off market hours, there are so many things to do outdoors with money they make.

The successful trader is lonelier than a son of a gun, so lonely his face could be put in the dictionary as a synonym. Frustration? It stings and hurts. All these billions of people struggling 4-hr commute for $3k/month then getting bombarded daily by TV to spend all that money fast and get into more and more debt. College for the kids? Ouch! They are screaming thru' a megaphone, "help me humbletrader!" Find one, make your life worth it, do it for free! No charge.

Feeling lonely while being successful??? Then, I guess those successful traders aren't successful enough in trading.

Take myself as an example, my loved one doesn't have to work so she could accompany me while I'm busy during market hours. We spend pretty much every evening to have dinners in fine restaurants and then go for a walk. For weekend, we would travel to visit surrounding cities to enjoy the springs.

Down the road, we just sold a house, as shown with water bill below, about a month ago. We are currently selling the 2nd house so we can carry out our plans to travel around the world for next few years. By the way, we begin to travel starting this November. With profits that generated from selling our houses, we plan to put them into GIC (i.e. Guaranteed Investment Certificate) to earn interest rates since we don't need to use them right now. Why? That's because I'm currently trading two Futures accounts, which generates more than enough income to pay off our daily living expenses. Why am I having two Futures account? Well, one is my own Futures account to carry out day trading activities with my own capital. Another one is from TopStepTrader company. I believe most of you know about this firm and I'm sure a lot of wannabe traders couldn't make it to Funded account due to their strict rules and etc.....

My whole point is that if you were me and you are in late 30s with greater than 7-figure in different bank accounts, yet you know that you have a lot of potentials to make consistent money year round, do you think you still feel lonely for being successful??? If you do, something must be wrong with you mentally.

By the way, please don't tell me how pitiful it's for those college kids. I graduated from an honour degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from a well-known university in Canada during year 2003. I couldn't find any job during that period because of recession. So, don't tell me that I'm a lucky one because I received no support from anybody including my parents whom migrated to Canada as immigrants with nothing.

Speaking of helping newbies to learn how to trade, I already got plenty of bad experience before. I believe some of experienced traders on here might already experienced it as well. After a period of time to mentor them for free, they would end up to ask you for secret sauce so they don't waste your time and their (according to their words.) You might end up to be like them LOL..........

Lastly, despite living in Canada for over 20-year, I hope nobody will get offended with my poor english writing as I speak multiple languages everyday which I can't master them all.

This post is the perfect example why this place can be a real shit hole sometimes. Posts that are off topic, people with pipe dreams and cut and paste. And even if true so what, many people own property what makes this one special... Sigh...what is your point even?

P.S. What about choosing a different nick? Not quite the match

If you do that, you end up with so many on ignore that you can't follow a thread thought.

I'm probably on more ignore lists than any other. For one, I'm a patriot... I hate Lefties/Commies/DemoCraps in America trying to destroy our country .

I am just curious about your level of education and your travel experience! Did ever finish high school? Did ever cross your county line? Do you watch any other news channel beside Fox news? Finally how is that Subaru doing?:D

If getting an education, crossing a county line, or not watching FOX news causes one to hate America, then one is going to the wrong schools, visiting the wrong places, and watching the wrong media shows.

I see plenty of propaganda and commentary dissemination stations, but are there such things as actual news channels anymore? By actual news channel reporting, I mean as in who, what, where, when, why, and how on relevant stories without political spin.
