ESTX 50 and Dax spike 11:30 ET

What was that? Aren't those supposed to follow the US market blindly ? NQ and ES did not budge and ESTX and DAX just took off culminating with a 10 point spike in 3 min in ESTX. Can't find any euro economic release for that time.

Looks like a lot of the indexes are not confirming each others' moves either up or down and some people decided to close their positions before going home?

Since start of this week the electronic trading platform XETRA for the german stock market closes at 17:30 CET (11:30 EST).

So some BUFs had fun in gunning stops.

Advice:Until Eurex US starts, exit your DAX-positions before 11:30 EST. If you want to keep overnight positions, you will have to widen your stops.

I see. Someone in Europe wanted to load up before CSCO earnings, just strange that nobody started bidding up in the US until 3:30 ET. These guys are like robots they always send big orders at half past or the hour. Anyway these big swings are strange... same in thebonds and euro .

Market on close orders in the cash market.

If you trade a stock index future, it is prudent to know the trading hours of the underlying stockmarket.
