Try and normalise him all you want, he is filth.
His supporters are superficial, opportunistic and fearful. Beware people who have a chip that others are taking from their mouths, usually imagined, saying "he says the worlds I am thinking".
Guys go on about socialism, look at Populism as it really never goes well. In Venezuela Chavez 'said the worlds I am thinking' and so did Peron in Argentina and so did ....

Edited: I am going to qualify that, there have been some populist movements that have worked out in American history.
But unlike such movements in the past that served as a counterweight to the wealthy, powerful and elite, members of today’s movement are demanding changes that are against their own self-interest and, in fact, will give the wealthy and elite even more power and advantage.
The new tax policy appears to be an excellent example of a chicken coming home to roost. There will be plenty more.
