Is there a symbol for NYSE adv. issues minus declining issues or is this something that has to be created as a formula?
 
I suppose you could use "$adv - $decl"
Not too hard to type that in.

I use a modified $trin .efs that has both lines plotted, with the adv and decl volume plotted as a histogram.

I came across $issu also, but I'm not sure if that'd be helpful to you.

Sorry, I made a correction after the post. $adv - $decl is it.

$add should be equal to "$adv - $decl" -- so that should be what you want. Sorry for the confusion.
 
yep I figured it out, esig can be a pain in the ass at times. Anyway, I like to overlay a trin and adv-dec chart and then have an index below. Very insightful as far as getting a feel for direction...
