With E-Signal being one of the only data-feed providers on the West Coast, you would think that they would offer traders on the West Coast an opportunity to avoid internet congestion and latency by connecting to an E-Signal server here at their headquarters in the San Francisco Bay Area . . .
Nope.
Not happening.
They won't offer that at all.
You are subjected to being routed via a load-balancer that more often than not will connect you with one of their server farms all the way back East.
This would be a "no-brainer" of a feature.
But as usual, someone is asleep at the wheel at E-Signal.

We understand the situation of internet congestion and that getting your quotes to you is just as important to us as delivering them in a timely matter.
But, without load balancing in place, users would overload specific servers and with the excess traffic redering these servers less then effective. This would cause a domino effect where users would continually overload new servers making recovery difficult and causing widespread problems across the server farm. Consequently this is why we have the load balancing process in place. Users are automatically routed to servers in an even distribution. To accommodate all the connection we have co-location servers spread throughout the Bay Area as well as across the country to ensure redundancy.
