ESfocus's journal of ES trades

Why can't the US markets stay open? What's with this we close friday night, see ya two days later? This is the 21st century isn't it? Keeps the lights on?

Can anyone tell me why we close down friday?

I'm sure there is history behind this i don't get, but why does it persist to this very day?? and no one is talking about this?

Because you need humans to run stuff, and most humans on earth have agreed to take Saturday and a part of Sunday off? Just a guess.

go ahead and take the day off, take the whole week off...but let the computers on!

there is more to it than this, someone very rich wants the the weekend off. they don't want to have to worry.

It makes no sense to pull the plug for two days per week on most important system/measure in place for the World's economy.

Currency markets are open 24/7. Join the 21st century US futures market!

Well, you could always call some futures exchanges like ICE and CME and just ask them why they do it. The call is free. So is the effort.

Wouldn't do any good. One day in near future they will be plugged in & turned on always. It is inevitable ..

Love Cramer! He's 'wired' all the time :D
