long this morning at 1288.75. long will probably last till the close.
this doesn't mean that we will go much higher; but a short signal today would surprise me.

guess the short signal came in.
I took the 1295 short for 2 points only. got scared. didn't get it on the pop move before the magic hour. ...should of, could of...
there's always tomorrow.

hope you took some profits on your 1288.75 long.

ES intraday reversal anyone?

short at 1295 and 1296?

this pop is oil driven... so I think it'll give back at the end of the day when oil closes.

any feedback?

I was thinking the same thing (I don´t no if that makes it more likely to be true though :)).
The rallies showed less and less volume and YM were weak just like yesterday afternoon. I traded the break down at 15.35.

Closed at 1294.50

After the correction to 1291.25 we went up again. In that upper move i closed my long as it became clear that 1295 would be the high of the day.

Doing some short term and day trading in another thread, but thought I would visit here and say that I am still maintaining the short at 1289 in my position account.

If the ES breaks 1300 I'm gonna short it and hold on to the short position. My question is when the futures roll over in March, what happens to my position? Get's liquidated? Or rolled over to the next contract?

Just curious why you want to play hero and short a breakout ?

hi volente ... have you noticed if the midnight rally effect is not as big an edge statistically in recent months or does it still drift up the majority of the time overnight ?

by the way ... do you ever look at the DOM display for ES or look at YM and NQ and ER2 when trading
over night ?

( or even the nikkei or HK or DAX ) ?

or oil or notes and bonds and gold ?

Never ride it down ? Do you not see me post my losing trades on here as well as my winners ? I never said I was a scalper, I said I like to Trade YM and my specialty is making 10 points off of it per trade. I have posted YM trades ranging from 2 points to over a 100 on a trade. I also have been known to make over 20+ trades in YM in a single day. Why did I leave YM ? I saw an opportunity to take my trading to the next level and decided to do it. You ever read the book PIT bull ? Do you know who marty Schwartz is ? Do you know who Lewis Borsellino is ? Those guys are my idols and I will not stop until I reach that level. Maybe it is a pipe dream and I will never get to that level a or maybe just maybe I will be trading 1000 lots of es in the near future and knocking down 6 figure pnl. Try moving 1000 cars in YM and see what happens. So watch your back bighitter, because there is a new kid in town.

While the pro's are with you, you only need courage.

It is still there, but it still works best when the makret closes on lod.

I don't want to diddle in the middle. Furthermore, if the breakout is real and there's a tremedous amount of volume and momentum then I won't short it, I'll go long. But I suspect the momentum will dry up soon after the break.
Now to my question what happens if I have a position and the futures roll over?
