ES scalping,is it worth?

Also, trade without stops - stops are for looser traders .

absolutely, and if you're doing size, why not just increase to 400 default . . . speaking of which, I must excuse myself while I get back into this market to butt heads with 990

trade well

Think about it this way, it's extremely rare to buy the bid/sell the ask in ES without the price ticking through to the next level.

Hence in order to hit your target of .25, the price actually needs to move .5 in your direction. But to get stopped out at .75, the price only needs to tick down by .5.

So if are long, and the price moves up by .5 you make .25, but if it moves down by .5 (the exact same amount), you lose .75 or three times as much. In this setup you have to be right 75% of the time to break even before commissions. Good luck!

blueberrycake,

what do you guys think of .75 stop and 1.25++ target. I've tried that. Sometimes I move the 1.25 to higher amt as the trend persist. But sometimes it comes right back down.

But your accuracy still has to be pretty high... Scalping is a hard game period. It can still be done.

Your math is wrong, your method is wrong and the market is right.

Tommorow, lets try brian surgery, and Friday we'll go fly the space shuttle.

It took me years to learn, and all I really know still now is that you can't teach scalping.

Sorry to be a bugbear, but there it is.

Hi,

yesterday i tried to scalp the E mini.
My target was 0.25,my stop was 0.5 and 0.75pts.

The market run three times against me,so damn fast.So i was stopped out three times.

Is it worth scalping the mini?what is your risk setting?
In my opinion it is realy hard earning money in the E-mini.
Maybe you get 0.25pts and then loose 4 times 0.5pts.

Steve Matrix does this and makes money. It's not my style though. So maybe u should hook up with him.

Yes, you can make money scalping the ES but why? I scalp and daytrade the s&p, dow and russell with good success but it took 4 years of losing to get over the hump. Try the dow or russell emini.... or how about currencies to start? There are easier markets to trade out there if you do your homework and read some of the previous posts from some of the big fish on ET. I'm just a guppy.
