never sell new highs.....but that does not mean you jump in long.....ES momentum trendline sloping down all month (April) as ES continues to hit new highs. What to make of this, and how to trade it?
Kicked from unemployment? There’s tons of self employed people getting 1099 money or cash money and drawing unemployment. The govt is only cross checking w-2 people as payroll taxes show up . Also you can use unemployment like a slush fund . The weeks you make less than $300 or don’t work at all file for that week .
I'm not gonna argue with you, smart ass Sammy. My friend is 1099, through an agent that works exclusively with LV Hotels. LV depends on tourism, and LV is and has been a target for all sorts if IRS issues, from W-2G, to tipping, to 1099-NEC taxi drivers, and more. And then there are various hoops state unemployment put in place to deal with fraudulent filing too. Cross-checking 1099 can be accomplished with simple phone calls or snail mail fwiw.
And btw... In NV for self-employed OR W2 unemployment recipients to get the federal bump they have to qualify AND RECEIVE STATE benefits, WEEKLY. No state benefit paid, no federal bump. The federal bump is the same $300 for everyone who qualifies on a timely basis. There is no such $300 earnings threshold. The threshold is based on each persons earnings that were provided to determine initial eligibility. There are minimums and maximums as well. Again, In NV, If there is no state benefit paid, there is no federal bump!

Seems like you should be cautious on the long side due to the declining momentum.
But what else?? Would it be wise to play SPY to the short side?
If so, what kind of target, and/or what kind of stop? And what kind of time horizon?
