so we have a four loss losing streak . KNow that I am not able taking every setup especially the ones in the morning, so I am not too bothered by this losing streak.

I am confident that if I took the morning setups I would have at least one profitable trade.

The model is barely higher than breakeven, as shown by the metrics, so it seems to be following the metrics quite accurately

Have you considered the fact that afternoons are a different session than the mornings?

What did your backtest results tell you about your trade method in the morning trading session versus the afternoon trading session ?

Also, what did your simulator or real money trading tell you about your trade results in the morning session versus the afternoon trading session ?

TRADE ONE: SHORT/LOSS/ BRD/30/11H00

PosttoET.jpg

11h01 I set my limit order to 76.50, TARGET= 72.25, INITIAL STOP = 78.75

EXECUTION

  • Was filled at 76.50 at 11h02 (USING the DOM) →

IN TRADE PERFORMANCE

  • The next one minute candle was a large green candle→ which reversed the trend and price moved in the opposite direction.

EXIT

→ after a few green candles , I was stopped out at 78.75

WHAT I LEARNT

I wonder how this would of played out in a real live "money" trade?

  • Perhaps I should retest the model with a rule saying that if 9EMA > 18SMA → I should exit the trade?

Remember I am backtesting manually in excel.

There is no advantage to morning setups, but trades taken between 12- 1pm tend to be losers.

It looks like i am having a losing streak, but I should point out that if I did take the morning setup at 9h30 it would of been profitable.

  • Seems like I am missing the profitable trades
