Dumb question:

I just went to finviz and summed the volume of all S&P 500 companies trading today, and their combined volume is:

1,813,034,440

Yet, CNBC reports just over 300,000,000 for the volume today on the S&P. So, is the volume on the cash index reported differently than just the sum of the volume of the stocks trading in it?

don't know what happens there but there are the dark pool trades,i dont know if /how they reveal those

looks like we are going to blow up. I would be surprised by 62-65 on the cash chart
