btw, my swing charts are short 1248, they were long from 1202, 60 minute swing play - needs some room, agree with Trvl on flex da stops. i.e. the swing long fired at 1210 and then at 1202 and we ultimately went to 1195 same day....and then 50 points up.

anyway that's it a bit rough around the edges :)

Quote from Trvlwanderer:

I would set a limit buy or sell within .05-.10 of the bottom or top of the ascending or descending triangle. The tgt was 75% of the expected run with a stop at about .05 below (or above) the failure point (rising or descending trend line. Size based on a couple other factors and I would scale in if mkt strength was in sync with the particular stock.

I have not traded those (stocks) for a few years now, so I have no ready example. Put AAPL or another high volume stock on a 5 minute chart and scroll back through time looking for ascending or descending triangles and again with wedge at the top or bottom of daily ranges.

I'll see if I can dig up some trade logs. As with any system, it is about risk, position size, and trader psych.

Hope that helps a bit.

Big thanks mate!!!!!

I am going to file your post and bring AAPL on my screen and identify some examples over the weekend.

While I'm bored..

Do any of you watch intraday volume on SPY to get a different picture from what ES is doing?

I am considering monitoring all 500 SP symbols and doing a minute-by-minute summation of their volume to get an accurate representation of true volume. I'm curious as to how this would compare with the SPY volume.

Alright, thanks....only one thing is in my head these days - and that is Europe. I was thinking of every damn politician and central banker from Europe and missed the skinny guy with big ears!

LOL
