I sold the other 99,000 at 16:00 because that's where I can sell them. Later on it is much harder. Disregarded for journal integrity purposes.
 
Hi guys, I saw someone mentioned the $tick shooting to -900 before the big rally if I am not mistaken. How many of you are actually using the $tick as part of their trading decisions? Don't $tick values vary across different data providers? If yes, how can the $tick be a reliable indicator?

I believe NYSE provides the data, and each data provider will take a snapshot every so often. I use IQFeed which offers the best I know of, updates at 1 second. So I think the difference will be in the update frequency. But, bigsnack is the tick expert, so maybe he will have a definitive answer. For all practical purposes though, they're pretty much the same if the update frequency is similar. If they are different, then you wouldn't notice I'd bet.
