Not that it really matters, but I have 1209 for the complete gap fill, based on the day's close. Are my numbers off or do you use a different metric? Thnx

I look at the 04:00 close, not the 04:15 close, in case that could be the reason we got different numbers?

I`m also looking at the close on ES. :)

I'm a nut. I compile them myself. :)

EDIT: and btw, despite the stats I quoted about the 2nd day gap it sure seems like ES wants to see 1187 today (2 day drop of 100 pts), right in the 50% p/b zone of this last major up swing since 10/4. That'd also be roughly -4% from yesterday's close, in line with Europe's being down 3-5% at one point this morning.

Very interesting. I think being a nut is mandatory in this business. :)

Do you perform your work in Excel or do you use some other mathematical platform?

I plan on starting with some number crunching myself, so it would be interesting to hear how you do it. :)

I`ve learned that the market is less random than some like to believe. I guess it does not hurt that it is the gap fill area either.

Unfortunately, I lacked the foresight to hold my short overnight. Working on that. :)

You talk about gap fills a lot but I have yet to see where your gaps line up with what I see on the chart usually -- I don't see any gap at 10.50?

This post included the area mentioned posted a week ago, just that we didn't go to the downside last week that far, 08.50 to 10, FWIW:

You need to plot the 0930:0400 cash session in order to see them.

If you don`t see them then, you need glasses. :)

Half gap above around 30.

So you chart the SPX and use that, or ES?
