Not to be a smartass, but how do you tell the difference on a chart between a pre-determined move and one that was not pre-determined, and how would you trade them any differently?

Like I said, just started watching this product so I am open to criticisms for my posts I am just trying to watch price action and movements to try and learn before I get involved. To answer your question I am merely stating the fact that it seemed like a ISM index number of 50.6 which is hardly something to get excited about did not warrant the product to run up 20 points. Thus my statement that it seems to me like some of these moves are either being pushed in the direction where some people want it to be regardless of reality or possibly just extremely emotional. The ES just seems like a random mess a lot of times which is the reason for my comment. Thanks.

I wasn't criticizing at all, and hope you didn't take it that way. I just wondered where you were coming from, is all. Thanks. :)

And I agree, the reactions often have little to do with the numbers, which is why I personally rarely bother knowing them or trying to figure out why the market moves the way it does. I just deal with the price ... that's it.

There's a little competition though isn't there? .. just not as much. You've still got GS, MS, Citi ... who else?

BAC ... that was the other one. Those are the big four left, which is still something at least.

Appreciate it, I have much to learn and this journal helps me, thanks.

Could see a repeat of the recent pattern ... open +10/-10, which would bring us to 07.50 some time this afternoon.

Add: to that end, 1220 was 50% RTH.

Quote from tomahawk:

Rejection @ p/m H is another indication it could reach 07.50, and possible symmetrical overshoot of p/m L.

Completed.

jpmorgan....this is just an observation, but when the treasury writes these guys a check for billions, then no investigations come forth, only a bernie madoff conviction which makes the news but has nothing to do with the bigger swindle,2 and 2 says they are all in it together,...on a different tangent..a future son in law works for citadel and said the day of the flash crash, their asian black box went down,so they shut off all their hft operations, the mrkt dumped and after a few phone calls, once the boys all knew what happened it came right back, maybe they thought no one would notice

long 1195, stop 1184, target 1230+

You would think they fill the gap before taking it higher.

I noticed your stop is above the gap.

Something to consider, good luck.
