What kind of slippage are you guys experiencing in this environment? Are you using market orders or limit orders?

As for the discussion about different trading styles and such, I have to say that I really respect "iloveoptions" for his honesty and how he has been accountable for his losing trade all the way.

There are enough people here who are loud mouthed when they win and tries to let their losses pass in silence :)

If a guy where averaging into infinity I can see that as a problem for the integrity of the journal, but I did not see "iloveoptions" do that, although he managed the trade quite differently than I would, especially considering his statement about being bearish around 1300.

One problem with averaging against such a move is that one quite often ends up puking close to the bottom.

Let`s all be friends now :p

Hey B1S1,

You got some balls telling people not to scale into their trades particularly with high volatility but most surprising with the Mount Everest size stops you use.

There are many ways to skin this cat, there is no one right way as long as the trader is skilled.

You could argue you are the OP of the threat and you make the rules but at the same time I could argue that you had been MIA for a very long time and now the active traders of the journal have a saying too.

Good trading.

Lots of slippage. I greatly admire anyone that can take a 20% ish loss to the account, risk 40% of it, and keep on trading as if nothing had happened. I have yet to meet one in the real world.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments, support, and most importantly, your constructive criticism. I've learned a lot from all of you this week, whether you are a newbie or not. The market has a way to make us all feel like a newbie from time to time. I'm not ashamed of it one bit. After all, we're all human.

What I despise the most though, are the traders who literary hound and enjoy beating up on others in a condescending, aloof fashion. Trading is already hard as it is. So let's be respectful to each others methodologies, so we can all get along with each others.

Anyone who doesn't like me or my trading can easily place me on ignore.

Take care, and I hope you all have a great week!!

good stuff, IloveOptions.
I dont see what the problem is. You had a stop in place and done everything realtime with complete transparency.
Up to you how you choose to manage the trade.
Good luck for next week

You too. Sorry to hear about your loss.

Nobody died:D It was another trade or trades that did not work out and I love options will get back up on the winning side.

It was a bit like watching a Black Swan happening but it is looking like it is over.

It was better to watch this saga than watching people suddenly having 20 point stops on trade only to realize that they might be real trades using fish and chip money for a 20 quid win or loss instead of using emini contracts that i love options was using.

A big difference.

Have  weekend everybody.
