Laissez Faire, I forgot to answer your question about the trailing P&L: once you're in the green for the week (month, whatever), you decide which portion of the profits you're willing to keep risking and at what point you will stop trading (same as with a trailing stop within a trade).

As with normal trailing stops, this has both advantages and disadvantages, of course.

This has to be the worst advice I see repeatedly. The market gives few enough good trading opportunities, arbitrarily stopping trading is just ... foolish. Trade when the market allows you to trade within your parameters, don't trade when it does not.
