1308 seems to be acting as a magnet.. any move away from 1308 to downside and I cut out this trade. Weighing odds we may have an expanding terminal.. whatever that is. I think it is bearish though.

...otherwise looking for a big up day.

Do you think we might see 26,50 today, Blotto? :p

You there Lucias? Forget the highs, take a decent exit ahead of them.

Quote from Blotto:

I did my first 100 lot within my first 18 months of live trading. I don't remember anything about the trade itself. I just had an aggressive position sizing plan and one day it was time.

I know that I have the capability to execute at least 140 lots. Even if I choke at 141, I know I'll do okay with the 140. Equally, even trading an extra 10 or 20 contracts when equity / profit allows doesn't really affect me. I think I'm immunised against the effects as I had one of the swiftest up and down again possible when I first got into trading. .

I just look at size now in terms of position sizing and market liquidity. I'm not going to start paying myself more when I trade more contracts - it just means that the account grows a little quicker and I'm another step towards lowering the leverage.

Time is running out for the shorts. I think time is on favor of longs here. If you were looking for a big down day.. things aren't looking so good. I'm thinking 1315 1st, 1318 2nd, 1322 3rd target. I think a close around 1317 is still a decent shot. Holding.. also with possibility of a deal over weekend.. holding short be very risky. However that said, I'd like to see us move away from 1308 to the upside, without that we may still close at the lows. I'm also seeing a No Demand Topping pattern. HHmm.. tough call.

Testing the day mid @ 08,50 now. Held to the tick on the first test.

Prior support now resistance?

One thing I was thinking was that would it not be reasonable to believe that with all the risk in the market at the moment, the big players would like to reduce their exposure going into the weekend?

If I were trading today, I might have entered a sell stop @ 1306. If we trade there, we will most likely tag the day low and possibly the globex low as well.

I should add that a buy stop @ 1309 might be a nice trade as well, targeting the previous swing high @ 1312, possibly the day high @ 1314 or higher.

Please don't selectively quote me to make it look like I'm better than I actually am. You've edited out the part about me being inexperienced, overleveraged, and dropping 30% of my net worth in under a month. None of that was particularly intelligent.

I've made a right cock up of several things related to trading, and still get my humbled by the market on a regular basis.

No, not quite that high. DanS made a great call last Friday, and I was wrong.

Quote from Blotto:

I've never properly traded more than 80 contracts, so I have absolutely no idea how I would react. I've not got myself truly comfortable above 40. This is more to do with my risk management. I think if I had three million in a trading account, I'd have no problem with 200 lots. Of course this is still far too much risk.

I did my first 100 lot within my first 18 months of live trading. I don't remember anything about the trade itself. I just had an aggressive position sizing plan and one day it was time. Of course by the time I hit 140 (about a month after my first 100) I managed to lose 30% of my net worth in a few weeks. Given that I had started with a 2 lot, I took this in my stride, but have never been near 100 lots since. I suspect I won't for years either.

Interestingly, I took so much risk during the "experimental" phase before I made this my only career and income that I'm not really bothered by size. I learned a lot of lessons, although I did make mistakes that set me back years. Valuable experiences. I don't hold overnights and I always have stops pretty close. Unless I become good enough to play in the big leagues, I don't think I'll be taking very large hits (or very large gains) in proportion to my capital ever again.

I just look at size now in terms of position sizing and market liquidity. I'm not going to start paying myself more when I trade more contracts - it just means that the account grows a little quicker and I'm another step towards lowering the leverage.

Here's your complete quote on 'Trading 1 ES contract forum'....
and, you still da King !

I've cut my size in half. I'm exiting this trade idea on any bounce.

I'm flat in my real money and discretionary accounts. My system always holds until the close. Hopefully, I didn't sell at the lows. I seen an NDT pattern which historically isn't a big move down but has been this week. I decided it is late game situation and to reduce risk.

I was able to exit 1/2 at 1306. I lost 1307 and exit the rest at 1304. We could still close 1307ish but too much risk.
