Just curious for anyone that's been trading for more than a couple of years-how many of you are looking to either trade a different asset class or at least move on from the ES given the lack of volatility?

Given there is no vol anymore and the underlying put by Bernanke means that no one will sell anymore, it would seem there are a lot better opportunities for money making in different asset classes.

Anyway - just wondering.

I have traded ES since early 2006 and see no reason to move on. The volatility will always fluctuate on any instrument over time and the key is to adjust your trading to it.

I've been trading the ES for many years and as Volente says... the volatility comes and goes.

That said... lately I have been toying with the concept that the various rallies in commodities are "the crash" many of us are expecting -- and the ES will just slow grind up for years to come... but gains in commodities will have to outpace gains in ES.

So yeah - if I accept my theory I will probably move on. Any sort of financial transaction tax might force me to move on as well (figuratively AND literally).

Trading range between 1281 and 1283. I will comfortably short a break below this level, but I`m not as comfortable going long on a break above, but we`ll see :)

We have the Ben Bernanke and a 30-Year Bond Auction in 30 minutes, so we might chop around until then or even sleep through that as well.
