Thanks for the explanations, but please refrain from them in the future. My question was who's going long at the open, not why is the market down 30 points, and honestly, I hope no one is going long at the open, because then I know if I am, I'll probably be right.

I see, i thought you are probably looking for a discussion, but it seems you are using ET crowd's view as a contrarian indicator. Your question didn't entail any response from others, and even if lets say 5 out of 5 people would have said they are not going long, I am not sure its a good enough sample. Probably you should do polls like Shortie does - might help bring in more responses. anyways to each his own.

Edit: As your poll brought in no response, you might view it as that noone is going long at open. But probably it also means that some people didn't reply simply because they didn't care. I will however be interested in seeing how today turns out.

I have noticed over the years the wave man is about a day or two early on his calls, a touch of 1220 would not shock me in the least. To me that is the 50 yard line for the bears. The bears need to get it under 1200. If they can move it to 1180 then I think there will be a major bounce. I think people are underestimating the effect of MF global on liquidity, a lot of players are out and its easier to push the mkt around.
