Quote from diablo11:

Short 1173.75 (Fridays High), Stop 1176.75, Target 1163.75.

Never understood the desire by so many to short in the face of massive strength.

Not a direct slam, but you tried calling a top under this power with a small room for error?

up 22, and eur/usd up over 250 pips.

And a 3 point stop???

Hey, I don't mean any offense, but there are better entry methods than inserting a silver dollar and pulling the handle.

I dont disagree, I like to get a feel for the day with tight stops until I get some traction. I dont usually like to step in front of the train but I gave it a shot, ill live with my small loss. Thanks.

The answer usually involves the words "I thought..." followed by an explanation.

--Currently short the Dec contract at 1189.25. Initial protective buy stop is 1368.00
--Stop remains the same. Reminder-- I have 118.75 pts profit from the Sep contract to offset any loss that could occur on this leg of the trade.
--Stop stays the same. Also, reminder--my stop is not 170 points from my entry--my entry was in the September contract at 1314.00
--Staying short--same stop. Just noise going on right now
--stop continues the same here. (9/20/11)--current price 1205.50
--Trade looking good here. Keeping the stop the same. I am on much longer frames than others here, that's why I can have a 50 or 60 point stop. It's not that I am unable to time-in fact I am able to time well. I have no more staying power than other prudent traders. Current price 1129.00 (9/26/11)
--Trade still looks good. Stop the same for now. I am on much longer frames. Current price 1174.25 (9/28/11)
--Trade looking very good here. Today's action allows me now to lower the stop to 1271.00
--Exited trade today at 1179.00 for an additional 10.25 points
--Total gain on trade 129 points at full position with 2 RT commissions.

Again, not pretending to be an expert or one without mistakes, but the power in this is one to throw a grappling hook at the train and get off when it slows. Learned this lesson TOO many times in the past.

Price action - NOT what "should happen".

There is a short coming, but not without a wide stop and the ability to handle some heat.
