If this bounce off 48 actually culminated at 51,75, we have a head and shoulder formation. Not picture perfect, but it`s there.

Volente likes those :)

EDIT: I guess we could trade beyond 51,75 and make a higher swing than that (53 maybe) and the pattern could still be valid. Just a possibility, that`s all.

was vol,and you are right, the percentages of this happening are high,edit..if this stays a trend day which the flatline dvol suggests,this is just the mid day pause

Similar action as in the trading range yesterday before the close with wild swings both ways.

What gave away the bulls as the winner was higher lows on each thrust down. Not as clear this time.

I'm looking at the close from last Thursday 1160.04. HOD today so far: 1159.71

add: fwiw, Dow HOD today is also shy of its gap from that same day (11153) by about 90 pts.

Picaso: Will set up an account and try one more time. Used them in the past, but hated the platform. Will see if I can change my mind :)

SPY gap was 116.05 and that filled, so who knows at this point. I still think higher but the VIX looks like it may be trying to put in a bottom (v 21% in 3 days), so we'll see.
