Quote from Picaso:

If you had shorted at r10, closed at +5 and bought the negative extremes in the TICK at 38-ish and (added at) 36-ish you'd find this action way more entertaining.

Or you could have simply bought the dip, not in the middle of nowhere, and be up about +5.

But what would I know? :D :p

hehe. Im sure as hell not shorting the ES!
This trade did offer me +2.5 I think but I didn't take it.
Besides, everything is as clear as a bell in hindsight.

True - never said otherwise. :)

You've proven to be patient with your exits and that's served you well.

Now see if you can be equally patient with your entries.

Bump.

When is everyone taking vacation?

I think Wednesday will be my last trading day this year.

I'll be trading - or trying to - all throughout the holidays.

(Had forgotten to answer your previous post: I do trade the ES, but haven't for the last 6 months or so, only trading CL right now).

Relative strong volume, strong momentum and high TICK readings on the breakout. Sector ETFs are all in the green, but not showing too much strength. Does anyone believe a rally towards 1250 by the end of the day is likely?

I initially was anticipating a short, but the strong momentum made me a bull and I entered long @ 1245 with a stop @ 1243.

I "hope" (since my stops are placed) that we are currently just retracing :)

Allright, Picaso :)

Does the market provide good opportunities for daytraders even in the holidays in your experience? I guess so, if not you would not do it :)

Good trading to you.

Please do not hesitate to tell me to go mind my f@#ing business :D

(I'm posting because I understand you use the TICK)

might rally into end of year, but players may be getting out of longs or shorting for jan, todays action was manipulation,i .e.several other indexes, out of tune with spx,so true bullish sentiment seems weak, making an up move a grind
