With only 30-minutes left in the trading session, I think a short should wait until 1118.50 is taken out before a scalp that should result in an easy 2 points.

resistance above 25.25 and 29.

Define doomsday. It is up or down?
How many points it needs to qualify for doomsday? :D

Btw, I expect 25-30 points down day very soon as well and I think we can start Monday 9:55. 200 Ema on rangebars it breaking out of trading channel, slide can be very quickly. If this qualify I am with ya... there will be a lot of profitable doomdays I hope

Because I trade neither!

I actually trade the cash market with a foreign broker (CFD broker)
CMC MARKETS

I quote the current contract for the benefit of the thread as I use ninjatarder charts for decisions and I know most of you trade the futures contract.. Makes it easier although I was looking at the SEP chart.

got it, thanks.

true.
There's quite a few little differences between spreadbetting and futures trading. I do intend to change over at some point. I like not having to worry about data feeds and platform fees and tax and other things. Im comfortable for now with what im doing, but maybe in the future. I'll have to sit down and do the maths. The spreadbet vs direct access is an ongoing debate amongst european traders

Index CFD trading is tax-free in your locale, correct?

correct
edit: In fact, plain CFD trading is NOT tax free ,although spreadbetting (which is what I do) IS.
Most spreadbet firms offer both with various advantages and disadvantages.

With CFDs you can also go long and short in the same instrument at the same time, no need to flip...

I think US laws forbid US citizens to open a CFD account abroad...My guess is for protecting the industry at home...although their justification is that they consider it gambling...

Edit: I just read, it is also illegal in Canada...

My guess it is also for tax reasons, because CFD brokers are not required to provide info to the US, thus a successful trader can make taxfree money and withdrawal is rather easy...

correct and correct

Spread bet firms for swing traders are a gift, wider spreads, but no commissions & no capital gains tax.

It falls under gambling because you make a bet on direction, not buying or selling.
