If I were a swing long here, I'd be watching closely how price reacts here at the 20-day MA. Last failure at the 20 MA sold off hard and the trend is quite definitely still down.

Using $SPX as a surrogate for ES to avoid continuous contract issues, it appears that the efficacy of the 20sma is a relatively recent phenomenon. One could even argue that crossovers are more important.

A backtest would resolve the question.

Simple looking at my tick chart.. The wider it is the busier.. Today was the narrowest.. see attachement... Globex in gray.. last night's session was VERY thin. ES could be different picture..

Given that though, I'll take any long setups I see tomorrow since low volume means squat recently..

ES 4hr chart SCREAMS short me at Vols 1090... as clear as day..

BUT DOW (I know, a cheat index) muttering 10300 and Breaking TL, which if co-incides with ES 1090.....
