China’s stocks dropped even as futures contracts advanced. The contract expiring in May rose to 3,443.6, the most active among the four. The June contract gained to 3,480, the September contract climbed to 3,547.6 and the December contract advanced to 3,585.2.

“The gains in futures contracts have largely something to do with speculative money chasing new things and unaccountable fundamentally,” said Jiang Lin, an analyst at Citic Newedge Futures Co. in Shanghai. “We expect weakness on the CSI 300 in coming months. The futures contracts will probably fall from their opening at the end of the day.”

there must be some hired guns they brought in to show them how to trade these that must have loaded up 3 boats on that spread
