someone on slope this morning translated a german news piece, the gyst of it was that AIG is liable for some of that greek debt thru insured credit default swaps (cds)

That is the rumour and if true no doubt it will drag the FED into supporting AIG once again.

The Greek spot of bother is just the thin end of the next global wedge I imagine.
Chances of stagflation grow by the week.

Can you imagine the Greek Taxpayers (as few as there are) being bailed out by a socialist global Insurer underwritten by Tax Payers from The Land of the Free.

"Irony" does not quite cover it.
