To touch on yesterday's conversation about the downfall of the USA. If the tax rate off fortune 500 companies was in fact 35% instead of an avg effective rate of 15% wouldn't that help fill the gap between govt receipts and spending? This would be an easy sell to the public and it would be awesome to see Larry Kudlow have a stroke live on TV. It might take us down to 860 on the S&P but we would all love that! Of course I'm assuming spending would become more disciplined LOL.

they would either move their home bases to switzerland or have the congress write in loopholes to let them off the hook, they currently own the house and senate

Good point, It's a shame the G12 countries can't collude against evil corporations. What if we paid our representatives so much they they couldn't be paid off? Everybody would vote you knew your congressman was getting paid 5 mill a year. Oh well enough chit chat time to get to work.

No. Those corporations will simply relocate to the more favorable countries.

I remember that there is a law which has not been in use for eons - something to do with treason if you move more than 90% of your assets out of the country. A similar law exists for Canada and other European countries too. It is applicable to citizens, not corporate citizens.
