Quote from jjj1000:

I am pretty much a discretionary trader, although I use everything in my analysis, like technicals, fundamentals, news plays, tape reading, etc.

I am not comfortable talking about the size of my positions. regarding the trade I posted, it can be multi-day or not, but I feel it can be a winner soon. My horizons are normally intraday to a few months holding.

Also, that is for "position" plays. I mostly scalp the ES and SPY in a daily basis

Independent of size, I assume you use options for multi-day no?

I agree with Pek on this one & others that do see weakness in stock markets & believe this to be just an anticipated short squeeze. Potential trend changes on the Weekly chart have provided substantial reward historically. Markets don't have to crash. I also see weakening p/a, not just in US, but in European & Asian stock markets, the more the merrier :)

EURUSD sell signal triggered ...

Not sure how it is going to work out as ES definitely is not following the EURUSD move at the moment.

Yes, in many cases. I like options because they are "hard stopped", that is, you really know how much you can lose, no matter what kind of black swan crosses your path. So that is great for multi-day, as stops don't quite work outside of RTH. It is riskier too, due to the time value decay.

Cool, I was just wondering what would motivate you to get options over futures if it was intra-day.

The reasoning makes sense.

Yeah, when I buy options I have implicit inside me the possibility of staying multi-day

Today was the first time I ever actually looked at SPY options as they're trading. As far as options go it just doesn't get any better than a .01 cent spread and liquidity out the wazoo.
