i think if SPY stays under 97.85 bears will be ok/in control (at least for today). then again, every day recently has looked just like this. that S1 is a good place to trap bulls though

do not worry bulls, no one cares about the consumers confidence and they won't be 'confident' for some time to come. haha. just an another manipulation opportunity :) keep buyin 4 now.

While it is (most definitely) true that everyone "talks" their position and looks for information that "supports" their trade, if 969.50 holds (current LOD) and forms a nice key reversal bar, I think you may be right! :)

will the bears wimp out again?
They don't currently have the field (in terms of major trend), so all they can try to do is push the Bulls back, try to hold limit their gains, and eventually turn the trend around.
