I assume that was an obvious trade for professional traders, then?

I think there is no obvious trade but each trader has different setups( break out, reversal etc...) and sometimes you will find that we are looking at the same thing.

I am a newbie. I can see some good lines on my chart that would give an entry at that point, but due to the fact that he got in so early, I assume sometimes traders dont wait for any confirmation? Just get in when it hits your support number?

First, whether you want to wait for confirmation or not is up to you. You should know that by backtesting, watching your screens. Myself, I don't blindly jump on a line.

Now, I did wait for a confirmation on that trade. You think I did not probably because it came on a low timeframe.

Hope that helps.

Depends on the setup. Sometimes confirmation can cost too much as far as the fill price is concerned.

The most obvious trade has to be the most basic and that is support and resistance.
You will see some good traders post their trades very close to each other in such cases.

It does not mean the trade will work out.
