Or, like last time, they pop it 20 pts higher in AH, so at open to settle the open range options first, then tank it 20 pts by close to settle the other batch.

It may be the case. The morning short is easy. The afternoon drop so far is difficulty to catch. Shorting slow grinding market is always difficulty, IMO.
 
Measured move (afternoon rally ended at exactly 50% retrace level) would put it at 66.75.

S1 is 68.75.

That said, today has not been an easy day for shorts--knowing when to hold them, and when to fold them.
