Actually, it was a very bad example. LC was talking about manipulating individual stocks. But the accusation against THEM is that they move the WHOLE market...

Not a good example in terms of intraday index movement.

Here is a better one.

Proprietary trading group in most h.funds and i.banks know all the most common ways where stops are placed and adjusted. The studies are done on actual orders placed into the exchange systems.

As reported by NYSE, on any single trading day, program trading of 75 mil shares by any one of the big ones is very common.

That implies the ability to move ES in one direction for about 10-16 points, for a duration of 15 minutes, twice a day.

Thus choose to doing that at the right moment and at the right price level can be very profitable arbs.

Y big OI at 800 however if you look at the strikes up and down the ladder on the big numbers 700 725 750 775 800 825 850 the biggest combined OI is at 850. Now I have real doubts we can get there but they do need some sort of push to clean out the other side.

Note again Yen also breaking down with bonds.

... today's low? I would love to know that one to set up a long.

Assuming a possible ADU for today, either around 11 am or when the Williams hits -100 is a good time to enter long on the pullback....

You used the word MOST. How come that MOST HFs lost money last year? After all they can move the market!!!

"Hedge Funds in general finished 2008 -18.3%, compared to S&P -37%."

Hey, all that market moving, at least they beat the S&P!

Do you always look at W%R on a 5-min chart or do other bar sizes work as well for that?
