Which his why I posted it in "ES Journal."

You're preaching to the choir. My bread-n-butter is trading yens from SPX chart w/ momo counts.

Sometimes you'll get a 10-figure sum of exotic options expiring (like late last week) concurrent w/ a sell off in equities for an exaggerated move. Actually, this happens quite often.

You'll also get yen drift after the close.

I'd much rather trade FX than ES. There are some great traders in here that if they were to trade FX for a few months they'd never go back to trading futures.

Anyhow... No more dollaryen short vol plays (cause of last 2 blow ups) me.

Have traded currencies - futures contracts - a few years ago but decided to go let it go ... I found that there was more action overnight, in foreign markets, not surprisingly so since these are in effect their currencies vs $US. Also, there was a tendency for foreign CBs to intervene when I was in slumberland.

I have been considering FOREX lately.. what tools and indicators do you use? any good forex sites?

We have back to back ADUs. Just like yesterday, this one isn't a true classic either, but follows the timeline beautifully. (9:52 top, 10:50 bottom)

Gap had to be taken care of, thus the big drop...

And I'm getting fed up with FX after 20 years ... trying to shift to ES and commods...

Don't want to clutter the thread but the correlation fx / es can be +1 for days and then all of a sudden its -1, enuff to make you give back in 10 seconds what you made in 7 days...

just because a big fx over-the-counter order somewhere distorts everything. what I am saying is, you can't really play the correlation consistently, or you have to swing trade it which is a different ballgame. fx starts to suck big time, but it would take me too long here to elaborate.

agreed there are some vvv good traders here. this thread is quality

I suppose one can see patterns everywhere if you
look long and hard....

double bottom and inverse H&S in ES 5 min

support at 836

volatility is being sucked away - VIX at 43.34, down by about 5%
