Quote from Lawrence Chan:

The low volume problem persisted today. So definitely not a new year week problem.

Remember the bear market years 2001 - 2002?
Volume on stocks goes to almost nothing causing multiple market making firms to belly up.

Not sure if it is a sign that people are moving away from stocks and indices as mentioned here by B1S2.

Edit: Another possibility - almost everyone who has an opinion to long/short overnight had already done so.

"It was the kind of market in which not even a skunk could make a scent."

Reminiscences of a Stock operator

1. Open is the high as of 1st hour.
2. New low by 10:30, breaking 1st 1/2 hr opening range.

Potential trend sell day.

3. S1 at 75.5 as resistance.

S2 at 65.5 in play.

Quote from saliva:

Congratz y'all bears! If we can pounce the 70 level, maybe we can end the day at or near 855.

Carpe diem! :D

70 is the decision making point - I am not sure if that will hold or not.

I am a rabbit, not a bull or bear. I jump towards the side where I can make $ :D

Luckily, on the daily chart we're finally picking up momentum. So keep your hopes up. :)
