most traders are either biased up or down long or short.....that must be overcome to get most of what the market is offering....my brother panics with each down move even if it is drop dead gorgeous...he only sees the buy entries even when it is screaming sell.....in other words he countertrends in a sell...and loses and when the zero starting point for the buy run appears he is psychologically spent and scared to enter the real one...because his money was given to others..over and over seeing buys in a down run....stock trading for years destroys most minds for eminis......
So basic yet still out of my reach for now. For over a year I've mostly tried to counter-trend only to find out all the other noobs counter-trending with me make us the trampled path for the trend. I can say it, taste it, see it, but can't trade it. Oh well, still trading small, managing my losses while learning. Honestly, I used to be a smart guy.Quote from volente_00:
It takes balls to pull the trigger long when sellers are piling on to a down move. But with proper risk management, that is how you make money in this game. The same goes with tops, no one wants to sell the panic short spike because of greed that it may go higher. Counter-trend goes against basic human nature and that is why so many are afraid of it.

95% chase
You will never buy the low or sell the top chasing with the herd.
